A former managing director in the manufacturing sector and lean six sigma leader, Gary Lacey is Programme Director for Lean Six Sigma training.

Currently Managing Director of Scott Jardine, Gary is an MBA qualified Business and Life Coach with an outstanding track record of business success in leading blue chip companies including within Raleigh Industries, Meggitt Group, Biwater Industries, BTR and Unipoly. After executing a turn round with Silvertown Limited (an underperforming subsidiary of Unipoly) as MD, he executed an MBO and eventually sold the company to another industrial group. He was previously a General Manager with Biwater Industries, again restructuring and improving the company performance; and Site Manager with Meggitt Composites, including Meggitt Armour Systems and is experienced in a number of industrial manufacturing sectors including aerospace, medical, defence and utilities.

Gary was chosen as an inspirational leader by the Manufacturing Foundation in there research into leadership. While Managing Director at Silvertown he appeared on ITV’s “Made in the Midlands” programme as a result of the company designing, manufacturing and selling earthquake protection bearings for Los Angeles County Hospital in the US.
His company was chosen by the Department of Trade and Industry as the best practice case study for new product introduction and the film made was used in training across the manufacturing sector.

Gary is highly experienced in Lean Manufacturing and is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt and was previously UK Director of a major US Consulting organisation. He has led numerous executive recruitment and coaching projects and is a renowned mentor and facilitator in change programmes. Gary has also been involved in successfully delivering a number of Executive Coaching projects for MDs and senior and middle managers. He is currently Programme Director to deliver Lean Six Sigma training and coaching projects for a number of colleges in the Midlands.


A former automotive engineer and lean expert, Barry Jeffrey is widely sought for his training, coaching and team building talents.

Barry now assists companies with the training and development of their employees in lean manufacturing techniques. Prior to this Barry spent time working at Dataforce as the Director responsible to Business improvement, working across all areas of the business to implement the company wide lean programme.

Barry spent almost 7 years working for TBM consulting group where he worked with almost 80 companies on lean transformation programmes including a number of programmes for major companies worldwide.

Before joining TBM, Barry served as senior engineer and group leader for Toyota Motors in the UK for 10 years, where he specialised in new model introductions, quality improvements and managing weld operations.

Barry trained extensively in Japan and the USA, receiving advanced training in Lean Production Systems from Toyota. He also trained as a specialist in new product introduction and advanced process design.

Barry was also instrumental in developing UK suppliers for Toyota, in lean techniques which included leading extensive lean training for the suppliers both in the UK and Japan.

Prior to his time at Toyota UK, He was a new Model programme Senior engineer at LDV UK and has a decade’s experience as a Quality engineer and supervisor at Jaguar Cars UK.

Barry is currently an Associate Consultant and Trainer with Scott Jardine supporting the application of Lean methodology in Manufacturing and Service Industries.
